I can across this song while watching a show/TV series on Netflix. The melody caught my ear and I wanted to learn more about the song and the band. The Weepies released their first album in 2003. The band name came from many sources but one those sources were these old movies that were called weepies, where you could basically be guaranteed that if you needed a good cry, you could go and see one of these and bring your handkerchief and have a good time. Deb Talan and Steve Tanner, who are The Weepies, want to make music that touches people and moves them in that way touches their souls, that place where tears come from, where joy and sorrow come from. Their Indie Folk/Acoustic rock style does a nice job of accomplishing a style of music that does just that, reaches into people’s souls and awakens their emotions. They have released 7 albums and have sold over a million albums. If you enjoy music that touches the soul and causes you to reflect, then you should explore their music further.
World Spins Madly On is about the loss of someone, either a love relationship or perhaps someone passing away. Either way, the song has touched me in a unique way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I would be interested in your thoughts on this song.
